6 Best Alternatives to the Ashun Sound Machines ASM Leviasynth Desktop Synthesizer (2026)

Comparing Alternatives to the ASM Leviasynth

Yamaha 61-Key Arranger Keyboard

The Yamaha PSR-SX720+ is a substantial arranger keyboard, measuring 40.1 inches wide and weighing 25.6 pounds. This contrasts sharply with the ASM Leviasynth’s compact 1.47-pound desktop form factor. While the Leviasynth focuses on oscillator variety and touch screen control, the Yamaha prioritizes extensive styles and real-time adjustment capabilities for live performance. You gain a full-sized interface with tactile controls but lose the portability and specialized synthesis engine of the ASM. This instrument suits performers who need broad sound palettes and accompaniment features rather than deep sound design flexibility. It is a professional tool for stage use, not a small studio synth.

Roland FANTOM 61-Key Synthesizer Workstation

The Roland FANTOM-06 is a 61-key synthesizer workstation weighing 13 pounds, significantly heavier than the 1.47-pound ASM Leviasynth. It measures 44.4 inches long, offering a larger footprint for desktop music production. While the Leviasynth provides 16 voices with eight oscillators per voice and a multi-color touch screen, the FANTOM focuses on extensive connectivity and sound design options typical of a workstation. You trade the ASM’s compact size and specific oscillator configurations for a more traditional workstation workflow. This option fits producers who need robust connectivity and a broader range of synthesis engines rather than a specialized, lightweight desktop unit.

RockJam 61-Key Keyboard Kit with Stand and Stool

The RockJam RJ561 is a 61-key keyboard kit designed for beginners, weighing 19.8 pounds. It differs from the ASM Leviasynth by offering a complete starter package with essential accessories, rather than a specialized synthesizer engine. The Leviasynth features 16 voices with eight oscillators per voice and a multi-color touch screen for advanced sound manipulation. The RockJam provides a ready-to-play setup with teaching aids, prioritizing accessibility over technical depth. You gain a comprehensive entry-level package but lose the sophisticated oscillator configurations and touch interface of the ASM. This choice is for those seeking a beginner-friendly instrument with a stand and stool, not a professional desktop synthesizer.

The ONE 61-Key Lighted Smart Keyboard

The ONE SK-COLOR is a 61-key lighted smart keyboard weighing only 7.7 pounds. It is slightly larger than the ASM Leviasynth but much lighter than most arrangers. This instrument connects to an app for guided learning, targeting beginners who value portability and instruction. The ASM Leviasynth, at 1.47 pounds, offers 16 voices with eight oscillators per voice and a multi-color touch screen for sound design. You trade the ASM’s advanced synthesis capabilities and touch interface for app-based learning and lighted keys. This option suits students who need visual guidance and a compact size, rather than producers seeking deep oscillator variety and tactile control.

Yamaha 61-Key Portable Keyboard

The Yamaha YPT270 is a 61-key portable keyboard weighing 12.6 pounds. It is a lightweight, plug-and-play option for beginners, contrasting with the ASM Leviasynth’s 1.47-pound desktop synthesis focus. The Leviasynth provides 16 voices with eight oscillators per voice and a multi-color touch screen for complex sound manipulation. The YPT270 prioritizes ease of use and portability for simple accompaniment and learning. You gain a straightforward entry-level instrument but lose the specialized oscillator configurations and touch interface of the ASM. This keyboard fits players who need a simple, portable tool for basic practice, rather than those requiring advanced synthesis features and a compact desktop form factor.

Alesis Melody 61 MK4 Keyboard Bundle

The Alesis Melody 61 MK4 is a compact 61-key keyboard bundle weighing 6.61 pounds. It is designed as an all-in-one starter kit for beginners, differing from the ASM Leviasynth’s specialized synthesis engine. The Leviasynth offers 16 voices with eight oscillators per voice and a multi-color touch screen for detailed sound design. The Alesis provides included accessories and portability, focusing on entry-level playability. You gain a complete package for students but lose the ASM’s advanced oscillator configurations and touch interface. This option is for those who value portability and bundled accessories over professional sound design capabilities and a compact, dedicated desktop synthesizer form factor.
