Looking Beyond the カリーナ Carina 88-Key Foldable Digital Piano? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How these alternatives compare

Rhymo 88-Key Foldable Digital Piano

The Rhymo FP88S includes built-in speakers, which the Carina lacks. This allows you to play without headphones or external amplifiers, making it more self-contained for portable practice. It shares the semi-weighted key action and USB-MIDI connectivity, ensuring similar app integration and touch response. However, it is heavier at 11.5 pounds and slightly wider than the Carina. You should choose this model if you prioritize sound output and speaker quality over the absolute lightest weight. It remains a portable option but offers a more complete audio experience for beginners who want to hear their playing clearly without extra gear.

OYAYO 88-Key Folding Semi-Weighted Keyboard

The OYAYO FP88D focuses on lightweight portability for travelers. It features velocity-sensitive keys similar to the Carina, providing responsive touch for dynamic playing. It includes a sustain pedal, which the Carina does not list as included, adding expressive control for practice. The model is designed for beginners needing a battery-powered instrument for on-the-go use. While it shares the 88-key layout and portable form factor, it may lack the specific light-up learning features found in the Carina. Pick this alternative if you need a basic, reliable folding piano with pedal support and do not require the advanced learning aids or Bluetooth connectivity of the original.

Rhymo 88-Key Folding Semi-Weighted Keyboard

The Rhymo model with Bluetooth connectivity offers wireless app pairing, matching the Carina’s connectivity for seamless digital integration. It includes an LCD screen for displaying settings, which the Carina also features. This model is lighter at 7.72 pounds, making it easier to carry than the Carina’s 8.9-inch length and broader footprint. It shares the semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive key action, ensuring a comparable touch response for beginners. You should select this option if you want Bluetooth support in a more compact, lighter package. It sacrifices some of the Carina’s specific learning features for reduced weight and straightforward wireless functionality.

Longeye 88-Key Folding Digital Piano

The Longeye FoldPro2+ is a compact, semi-weighted solution designed for travelers who value included accessories. It shares the portable form factor and 88-key layout of the Carina. However, it is heavier at 14 pounds, which may impact ease of transport compared to lighter alternatives. It does not list Bluetooth or specific learning features like light-up keys in its data. This model fits beginners who prioritize a bundle with accessories over advanced connectivity or lightweight design. Choose this if you want a complete portable package and do not need the app integration or battery power options highlighted in the Carina’s specifications.

AiJoy 88-Key Magnetic Split Portable Piano

The AiJoy ASP-15M features a magnetic split design, allowing you to divide the keyboard into two parts. This offers flexibility for duets or transport that the Carina’s single folding unit does not provide. It includes a built-in battery, supporting portable use without external power, similar to the Carina’s rechargeable lithium battery. The semi-weighted keys offer a familiar touch for beginners. It is compact and weighs 13 pounds. You should consider this model if you value the ability to split the keyboard for unique playing styles or easier packing. It trades the Carina’s light-up learning features for this unique split-portability and battery convenience.

Longeye FOLD PRO II 88-Key Folding Piano

The Longeye FOLD PRO 2 emphasizes portable sound quality and includes a sustain pedal for expressive practice. It shares the 88-key, semi-weighted design with the Carina, providing a consistent key feel. However, it is heavier at 15.5 pounds and slightly wider, making it less compact than the Carina. It does not list Bluetooth connectivity or light-up learning keys in its attributes. This model suits travelers who prioritize sound output and included accessories over lightweight portability or app integration. Pick this alternative if you want a reliable folding piano with pedal support and do not require the digital learning aids or wireless features of the original Carina model.
